Dejah Stephens Named Ramsey Middle School Teacher of the Year!

Fort Smith Public Schools is proud to announce that Mrs. Dejah Stephens, a sixth-grade literacy teacher, has been named Ramsey Middle School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Stephens is a dedicated educator whose commitment to her students, colleagues, and school community sets her apart. Through her innovative teaching methods and compassionate approach, she creates a classroom environment where all students feel supported and inspired to achieve their best.

“Mrs. Stephens doesn’t just teach—she innovates and leads,” said a colleague. “Her ability to connect with students, support parents, and guide fellow educators makes her an invaluable part of our school.” In addition to her role as a literacy teacher, Mrs. Stephens leads the Ramsey robotics team, fostering hands-on STEM experiences that encourage problem-solving and teamwork. She also provides essential technology support to both students and staff, helping families navigate online learning tools like Schoology.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Stephens is known for her leadership, kindness, and unwavering support for the school community. Whether mentoring fellow teachers, assisting parents, or going the extra mile for her students, she consistently demonstrates a passion for education.
